2012 Spring Ooutlook:
This spring 2012 is going to be the best spring ever for Madlax All-Star program. The fall 2011 season proved we are on track and one of the best youth club programs in the nation backed by the U13AA Orange win over the Baltimore Crabs 7-6 to win the NPYLL FallFest on 11.13.11. Now we must get it done when it really matters in the spring NPYLL season! All Madlax players and coaches worked hard to improve since 9.1.11 when teams were started so that we can all come together for a memorable spring 2012 for all 6-7 Madlax teams. The goals are high for our teams and with continued hard work and greater dedication to practices we will have success. This spring 2012 we plan to have 2 teams at U11 and U15 and 3 teams at U13 but ALL will compete in the prestigious NPYLL - National Premier Youth Lacrosse League. We have added a new U9 and that team would be in NPYLL as well. There are 2 levels and conferences in the NPYLL; AA and A. Madlax welcomes new players as always to tryout in March to join the all-star academy. There are limited roster spots on U13 and U15 teams right now. U9 and U11 are wide open as we just started these teams this past fall and we need more great players at these ages. All past and new players must attend tryouts so we can decide if you make the orange (AA) or blue (A) or White (A) team for your age. We will only take 16-22 players on each spring league team roster.
2012 Spring Schedule and Commitment Requirements
Madlax spring all-star teams can be in place of or in addition to your town/rec league team but you must understand our policy on practice and games and playing time. We allow our players to play for their town 'A' teams but Madlax must be the priority if there is a conflict for practices or games. Practices and games for Madlax U11AA Orange, U13AA Orange and U15AA Orange teams (if you make one of these teams) are required. We are more flexible with Blue and White teams and U9 but parents must communicate potential conflicts early before the season starts. Generally, your sons will get way more out of our Madlax practices then rec practices as our practices are all uptempo, challenging and far more advanced. If you make one of our AA Orange teams you are one of the best players at your age in the greater DC area (and maybe the country) and deserve the weekly advanced coaching. Failure to attend practices or games may jeopardize your playing time and your position in the academy. Playing time is at the discretion of the head coach but generally we play to win (during the NPYLL season games) and the best players will always play the most. Our real NPYLL season will start with practices in late February on Sundays. Games start in April and all games are on Sundays so as to not interfere with rec/town schedule games. We will not have practices or games on Easter or Memorial Day weekends or the week preceeding these days. Final 4 and Finals are the weekend AFTER Memorial Day in 2012. Because private and public school spring breaks are different in 2012 we will have probably have games during your spring breaks so plan accordingly. Our spring teams will practice together by age group 2 times a week all spring. Be sure to read complete '2012 Master Spring Schedule' above for details. We really appreciate your commitment as parents to get your sons to practices and games!
