 MADLAX ACADEMY ALL-STARS 2010 - DETAILS

ONLINE APPLICATION

9/8/10 News: We have updated the practice/tryout schedule for this week. Please read below. Also we are in process of deciding what to do specifically with all our current and new players and the teams for the fall and will post here or let you know as soon as possible. All current players should register now for Fall League and/or FELL if they want to play.

NOTE: September 7th, 8th and 9th practices have been CANCELED as no fields are available. Please attend next Saturday.

We will have "open tryouts" for all ages for any new players who want to try to join the Madlax All-Stars Academy throughout the fall. New players who want to tryout MUST register above by clicking on the Online Application tab.  If you make a team you are part of the Academy going forward and receive all the benefits of the Academy. These tryout sessions are also practices for all current academy All-Stars and so you should attend them to get in a workout with your teams. 10-12th graders will be evaluated in a game setting in the fall league we play in on Sundays or in the FELL. Once you register for an open tryout we will let you know how to proceed.

If you participated in the Madlax All-Stars Academy this past summer you are aware that you are all part of the Academy program going forward for the next 12 months through August 2011 since you already made our program at the June 2010 tryouts and therefore you do NOT need to register for a tryout. Just show up to the next practice for your age or team. You DO NEED TO REGISTER for the optional Fall league and FELL if you can play.

This fall we will offer Madlax All-Stars the opportunity to compete in the FELL Fall Elite Lacrosse League (for 9th-12th graders only) during the week and/or in a Sunday Fall League (for u11 through 12th graders). If you are not playing a fall sport you should play in both if you are in high school. We also will have free positional workouts (face-offs, goalies, shooting, dodging, defense, etc...) all fall for those in the Academy. Details are below for these great opportunities.

More coaching, more practices, more attention and the CASE (character, attitude, success, effort) initiative makes better players and better teams! Check out our new Academy logo.

About Team MADLAX ALL-STARS:
Madlax is recognized nationally as one of the premier all-star programs in the nation by college coaches. This summer 2010, our 11th as a program, we have added some new features, like CASE, that will help us build on our #6 National Ranking in 2009. We had 6 sophomores listed on the national IL.com watchlist. Madlax has the greater DC area's only TRUE ELITE All-Star Team based on tryouts. We have and will continue to create a buzz with press releases, blog and forum entries, and articles about Madlax on insidelacrosse.com to market our Madlax program overall. Ultimately, we feel this will further enhance the exposure of our our program and draw greater attention nationally to our young men on EVERY team in our program. You can exepct more from Madlax.

Our College Placement Record and respected relationships with college coaches are what set us apart from every local club team. We have placed over 300 student into colleges through our elite program since 1999 when we started. Our outstanding coaches are all college or high school coaches. Our coaches are carefully selected and have received outstanding praise from parents for years. We know you have options to other local club teams these days but remember our college connections are simply unmatched in the DC area and playing college lacrosse is ultimately a major reason for most why you are playing for Madlax. Finally, Madlax has added some exciting new tournaments to the summer tournament schedule for 2010. Madlax is always trying to enhance it's local, regional and national reputation as the premier all-star program for boys ages 9-19. Register now to be a part of it.

Madlax is an incredible opportunity for boys in the DC Metro area so we want to afford EVERYONE the opportunity to play. We have set aside scholarship money and offer payment alternatives and plans for those that require them. Once you are accepted on the team after June tryouts please contact Program Coordinator, Cabell Maddux at cab@madlax.com.  We will strictly honor all confidentiality in these matters.

CASE Mini-Camp (for u11, u13, u15 and sophomores only) June 18-20
This year we are holding a mandatory CASE mini-camp as our first team overnight event at Episcopal HS. This is an extremely exciting new feature for the younger players in our program and an aspect that separates Madlax from all clubs locally and nationally. We are commited to developing the whole person through elite lacrosse. At this mini-camp we will emphasize our new intiative, CASE - Character, Attitude, Success, Effort, as we install our specific team sytems for the year. We will have 6 focused practices which will create chemistry with teammates and coaches early in the summer.
We will finalize our Orange (AA) and Blue (A) teams based on your play at mini-camp. We will also hold CASE presentations throughout the weekend. It will be an invaluable and memorable experience for all players and teams who participate and start the summer off on a very positive foot.
